What is Sound Bathing?

Sound healing has been around for thousands of years, using various instruments. You may have heard of the common ones, such as singing bowls, chimes and gongs.

If the read about the history of sound healing it is said that Greek's used musical instruments to help heal patients. Using the power of vibrations to help promote sleep, treat mental health illnesses and improve digestion. In ancient Egypt, Egyptians described how musical vibrations helped to heal sick people.

Sound bathing isn't like bathing in water. Instead you have sound vibrations wash over you. Normally while you lie down, in a group, but can also be one to one.

The most common singing bowls are hand made in Tibet out of 5-7 different metals and used by Buddhist monks for deep relaxation and muscle relaxation.

How can it help?

When people have experienced sound bath mediation/healing you will generally feel more relaxed. As well as the following:

  • Reducing stress and anxiety levels.

  • Improves moods

  • Release tension and negative emotions

  • Improve heart rate and blood pressure

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Clear energy blockages (chakras)

Sound bathing has always been around and started becoming popular in the UK in 2018. Due to the epidemic in 2020 the last couple of years as caused a lot more people to suffer from stress and anxiety and looking for other ways to help.
